America’s Best Racing and BetAmerica team up to provide horseplayers with their best bets of the weekend in a regular feature blog that will run on Fridays.
Each week, one of our crack handicappers - Jose Contreras, Dan Tordjman, Victoria Garofalo, Mike Johnson or Vince Mathews – will provide at least one “Best Bet” of the weekend, ideal for a win bet. The post also will include some combination of additional bets for the weekend.
For some posts, our handicappers will try to identify a longshot play of the weekend, a nice opportunity to swing for the fences on a win bet or to take a shot with a show bet.
Our handicappers also will look for strong exacta plays for the weekend or occasionally try to spot a nice opportunity for other wagers.
Place your bets at BetAmerica, which prides itself on outstanding customer service combined with the safety and security of wagering with a reputable advance-deposit wagering platform. Place your bets and you can walk away with some extra cash in your pocket.

BEST BET/ WIN BET
Del Mar, Race 8, Kathryn Crosby Stakes, 7 p.m. ET
#2 Three Hearts: This horse has knocked on the door of graded stakes throughout 2015 and returns to a turf course where she won a Grade 3 affair in 2014. A four-month layoff, a steady promising work tab, and a drop in class all show signs of solid value at 7-2. She cuts back in distance as she makes her first effort at 1 1/16 miles, which should serve as a welcome change after struggling to win at longer routes.
BEST BET/WIN BET
Churchill Downs, Race 10, Chilukki Stakes, 5:15 p.m. ET
#6 Gold Medal Dancer: After posting six straight triple-digit Equibase speed figures and showing signs of being a force to be reckoned with on the older filly and mare scene, Gold Medal Dancer faltered last out at Churchill finishing a distance sixth in the Fleur de Lis Handicap back in June. I expect a strong rebound out of her at the Churchill oval as she tightens back to a one-turn mile.

EXACTA BOX
Del Mar, Race 8, Betty Grable Stakes, 7 p.m. ET
#1 Kiss at Midnight: This filly was right there, running a game second, in the California Distaff at 6 ½ furlongs. She gets an extra half furlong to work with here, and West Coast stalwart Rafael Bejarano makes the switch into the irons which will serve as an added bonus.
#5 My Monet: She comes out of a Grade 1 loss to Beholder, and finds herself among more suitable company for a horse of her ability. She’s struggled to retain leads in races held at a mile and upward, which makes this 7 furlong distance almost a no-brainer. Jockey Santiago Gonzalez is holding his own in the Bing Crosby Meet at Del Mar thus far, hitting the board in 57 percent of his mounts.
BEST BET/ WIN BET
Churchill Downs, Race 3, 1:45 p.m. ET
#9 Kendall's Boy: This is his first start under the tutelage of trainer Tom Amoss. A pair of recent lackluster efforts likely caused that switch, but this horse has shown plenty of flash under the care and oversight of Amoss’ barn. A nice line of works, a drop in class, and the addition of one of the nation’s hottest jocks and the most recent Keeneland riding title holder, Corey Lanerie, just reeks of a sure-fire winner.
