Considering how bad the spill looked, jockeys Sebastian Saez and Sophie Doyle avoided serious injury in a Nov. 19 spill at Churchill Downs.
Saez fractured his left collarbone while X-rays on Doyle were negative. Doyle reported being body sore but could return to riding as early as Sunday, Nov. 22. On Twitter, Doyle thanked fans for their well-wishes after the fall in Thursday's fifth race.
"Thanku so much for all ur tweets," Doyle said in a tweet. "I'm doing ok just feeling pretty sore this morning, hopefully I'll be back soon."
Both riders were transported to Norton Audubon Hospital. Both of the horses involved, Seth Romero's Magnum Force, who was guided by Saez; and Joe Uliano's Gladhander, who was ridden by Doyle, were walked off the track and returned to their barns on the Churchill backstretch.
