Gonzalez Uninjured After Golden Gate Spill

Description:

Jockey Ricardo Gonzalez had X-rays come back negative Nov. 20, following a fall well beyond the wire after Friday's fifth race at Golden Gate Fields.

Agent Ron Freitas reported Gonzalez's condition to the Golden Gate publicity department Friday night and also said the jockey plans on riding Nov. 21. The initial concerns were that Gonzalez may have injured his wrist.

Gonzalez was aboard Jerry Hollendorfer-trained Stand and Salute when the jockey fell to the Golden Gate turf during a five-furlong allowance/optional claiming event. There was no indication the 3-year-old Saint Anddan   colt was injured during the incident, which followed his second-place finish in the race.
