The Dubai World Cup festival is known for world-class racing and fashion (Photo by DubaiWorldCup.com).
March 29 is the $10 million Dubai World Cup at Meydan Race Course – the flagship race of the Dubai World Cup Carnival, a three-month meet that attracts some of the best and brightest stars in racing.
When it comes to dressing up at the races, the stylish women and men of Dubai certainly know how to dress to impress. Dressing for a day at the races is an event in itself - it’s a chance to put on that something special in your wardrobe, feel glamorous and enjoy a day at the races while feeling like a million bucks.
FASHION IS A BIG PART OF THE DUBAI WORLD CUP

One of the most anticipated events of the day (besides the incredible card of racing) is the Jaguar Style Stakes - a fashion event where judges critique the United Arab Emirates’ most fashionable women and men in six different categories: Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Man, Best Dressed Couple, Best Hat, Most Creative Hat and Longines Most Elegant Lady.

What do the judges look for in a winner? Originality, style, appropriateness and attention to detail are the top things they consider while judging. Did I mention that the winner gets a 2014 Jaguar F-Type for a year? Oh, how I would love to cruise around in that!

In addition to the wonderful clothing you can’t forget the stunning millinery, statement jewelry or the exquisite shoes that complete the perfect Dubai World Cup outfits.

For the ladies, dressing for a day at the races requires a perfect balance - you don't want to look like you're attending a gala; and while the atmosphere is fun and feels like a party, you're not dressing for a night out on the town. You have to walk the line of elegance, class and don something that can seamlessly transition from day to night.

For the gents, a suit is not required. Of course, if you do want to go the traditional route, add some color to your ensemble with your shirt and tie to make your suite pop. But if not, feel free to opt for a pair of nicely pressed khakis, a button-down shirt, jacket and tie (or bowtie) with a pair of dress shoes.
THE MEN ALSO HAVE MULTIPLE FASHION CHOICES
