Amis Gizmo Aims at Fourth Stakes in Kingarvie

All eyes figure to be on undefeated juvenile Amis Gizmo in the $125,000 Kingarvie Stakes Nov. 28 at Woodbine, as 2-year-olds will be the focus in a pair of stakes on the Saturday card.

Ivan Dalos' Amis Gizmo successfully made his career debut in a stakes, winning the Simcoe Stakes Sept. 2 at Woodbine for trainer Josie Carroll. Since then undefeated Amis Gizmos and regular rider Luis Contreras have added two more stakes wins, taking the Bull Page Sept. 27 and the Frost King Nov. 4, both at Woodbine.

Saturday's test will mark the first time the Giant Gizmo   colt tries two turns, as he stretches out from his win in the seven-furlong Frost King to the 1 1/16-mile Kingarvie, which is restricted to 2-year-olds sired by Ontario stallions.

The expected field of eight also includes Conquest Cavalry, who scored a 2 1/2-length maiden special weight victory Oct. 21 for trainer Mark Casse after finishing second in his first three starts.

The other stakes race on Saturday's card is the $150,000 Ontario Lassie, which also will be contested at 1 1/16 miles on the main track. The Ontario Lassie, for Ontario-bred 2-year-old fillies, has attracted eight entries including Miss Forester, who has won her first two career starts.

C.E.C. Farms' Miss Forester has taken a more conventional approach to her career start than Amis Gizmo, as the daguther of Old Forester   will make her stakes debut Saturday after winning a maiden special Oct. 10 and an allowance Nov. 6, both sprinting at Woodbine. She also will stretch out to two turns for the first time Saturday.
