Description:

America’s Best Racing brand ambassador Jose Contreras – whose puts his picks out for the public regularly on his own blog www.losponies.com - will help DerbyJackpot players with his insight in a new blog feature for ABR.
Each week, Jose will give out his “Best Bet” of the weekend, ideal for a “Monkey Bet” (a win bet) on DerbyJackpot, as well as his Lonshot Play of the weekend, a nice opportunity to swing for the fences on a Monkey Bet or to take a shot with “The Granny” (a show bet or top-three finish).
Jose also will lay out a quick-hitting Granny Parlay, in which players will have an opportunity to place one Granny bet after another on a sequence of four or five races within an hour or so of each other, essentially letting it ride as they go "all in" search of a nice return on investment. The idea of the parlay is to steadily grow your bankroll until you have a sizeable stash of cash to let it ride on the final leg for a nice payout.
Place your bets at DerbyJackpot. Races open for betting about five minutes before post time. It’s fun, it’s easy, and you can win cash. Open your account today.

Best Bet (Monkey Bet / Win Bet):
Sunday, Race 2 at Saratoga (4:39pm ET)
#5 Ketel Twist (5-2): This filly ran a good second in her debut when closing ground late. She makes her second start today and should benefit from that racing experience. She is bred to like today’s longer distance and she shows a good workout since her last race.
Longshot Play (The Granny /Show Bet):
Sunday, Race 7 at Del Mar (8:10pm ET)
#2 High Jinks (15-1): She finished fourth in her U.S. debut while missing third place by less than a length. Trainer A C Avila does well with imports and this filly can improve in her second start locally. She owns the most wins out of any her opponents today (5-for-13) and I like the six-furlong workout since her last start.
Quick Show Parlay (Granny Parlay):
Sunday, Race 8 at Saratoga (4:39pm ET)
#7 Indian Splendor (6-1): She showed good speed in her most recent win when winning by more than four lengths. Today, she faces tougher competition but given how good she looked in her first start since October, she should be ready to fire another good effort. Trainer Jason Servis wins at a 29% clip when his runners have won their last start and at a 62% when his runners run their second start off a layoff of over 180 days.
Sunday, Race 1 at Del Mar (5:00pm ET)
#6 Lil Barbie Doodle (6-1): She ran a decent effort (4th) in her last start at a shorter distance when missing third place by less than a half-length. Today, she stretches back out to a route, which she seems to prefer, and I also think her early speed will put her in a good position against this group.
Sunday, Race 9 at Saratoga (5:12pm ET)
#4 Justin Phillip (5-1): His off-the-pace style fits this race well given that horses 1,2 and 3 tend to show plenty of early speed. He has two seconds and one third from four tries over this track and his jockey (Velazquez) has ridden him before.
Sunday, Race 2 at Del Mar (5:37pm ET)
#4 Tacit Approval (3-1): She is a filly who should move forward off of her debut when she finished second over this track. She shows a good workout since that last race and her trainer (Dollase) wins at a 22% clip with maidens making their second start.
