The emphasis will be on new ideas when many racing industry leaders gather in Tucson, Ariz., Dec. 7-9 for the University of Arizona Racetrack Industry Program's Global Symposium on Racing and Gaming.
The first session Tuesday will feature a panel of five presenting 45 ideas on improving racing and the marketing of the sport in 45 minutes. That panel will set a tone focusing on innovation that continues through Tuesday and Wednesday as panels will discuss such topics as attracting new owners, adaptation in the reporting of racing news, and ideas on fixing racing.
This year's symposium also will feature an "idea factory," on Tuesday during which attendees will brainstorm new ideas with an opportunity to present the best of those ideas on Wednesday and the finals of an innovator's circle on Wednesday. The innovators' circle is a first-pitch competition for new ideas that offers a $15,000 first prize. The sessions are designed to generate new ideas in racing.
After registration, board meetings, and a welcome reception Dec. 7, the symposium will shift into high gear with two days of sessions Dec. 8-9. Follow the event on Twitter at #azsym15. For the full symposium agenda, click here.
