A halter worn by Triple Crown winner American Pharoah and Spend a Buck's 1985 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) owner's trophy are among the horse racing memorabilia available at the online auction site Lelands.com.
According to Lelands.com, which specializes in sports and Americana memorabilia, vintage photography, and rock 'n' roll items, the American Pharoah halter is listed with a reserve of $10,000. The reserve on the Derby trophy is $50,000.
As of midday Dec. 7, neither had a bid. Both auctions end at 9 p.m. EST Jan. 8, 2016.
Lelands.com said the Pharoah halter was initially donated by owner Ahmed Zayat and his family for a fundraiser on behalf of Alyssa Selman, with 100% of the proceeds from its original sale going to trust for the injured jockey.
"Provenance and documentation is rock solid, the lot comes with a recorded DVD message of authenticity from trainer Bob Baffert," according to Lelands, and is being offered with an American Pharoah Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner's circle photograph autographed by Baffert and an American Pharoah Triple Crown poster autographed by jockey Victor Espinoza.
"This is a phenomenal opportunity to purchase a piece of history from a historic year," the online site said.
The Spend a Buck Derby trophy is part of an extensive list of auction items at Lelands obtained from the widow of owner Dennis Diaz.
