Multiple stakes winners Singanothersong and Weekend Hideaway each put in half-mile breezes Dec. 13 in preparation for expected starts in the $100,000 Mr. Prospector (gr. III) Dec. 19 at Gulfstream Park.
Herman Van Den Broeck's homebred Singanothersong was timed in :47 3/5 at Gulfstream Park West, the fastest of 19 horses. The 5-year-old son of Songandaprayer was eighth last year in defense of his 2013 Mr. Prospector victory.
"I thought it was a good move for him," trainer Ron Pellegrini said. "We'll see how he cools out and how he's acting the next day or two, but everything looks to be on schedule."
Red and Black Stable's Weekend Hideaway breezed four furlongs in 49 2/5 on Gulfstream's main track. He won a five-furlong allowance race Nov. 16 at Gulfstream Park West, the first victory since the Sunshine Millions Sprint Jan. 17 at Gulfstream for the son of Speightstown .
"He went very easily," trainer Phil Serpe said. "He's a good work horse. We're going to look the race over and kind of see who might be going in there, but it's definitely a target for us."
