TVG is introducing several innovations as part of its live coverage of the Keeneland Race Course meet that begins April 4.

The horse racing television network and legal online wagering entity said the Keeneland coverage will include the use of a 3.7-ounce wireless, live transmittable lipstick camera, an increased number of on-site cameras, and virtual graphics that will display betting and sponsorship information.

Highlighting opening weekend action at Keeneland will be the April 5 $500,000 Ashland Stakes (gr. I), a prep for the Longines Kentucky Oaks (gr. I). Also that day, TVG will also air Saturday's $1 million TwinSpires.com Wood Memorial (gr. I) and  $1 million Santa Anita Derby (gr. 1), both key preps for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).

"For many fans the racing season kicks into high gear with the opening of the Keeneland spring meet, which TVG has been proud to cover for over a decade," said Bhavesh Patel, TVG's senior vice president of television operations and marketing. "Along with the other important races on the schedule from coast-to-coast this promises to be a great weekend of racing."

TVG's weekend schedule also includes the inauguration of exclusive live Hong Kong Jockey Club racing, which begins April 5 at 10 p.m. PDT (1 a.m. Sunday, ET). TVG becomes the first and only advance deposit wagering provider in the U.S. to offer wagering directly into the lucrative Hong Kong pari-mutuel betting pools.
