Chantal Sutherland-Kruse hasn't ridden on a regular basis since June 2014 but has reunited with agent Tommy Ball as she undertakes her return to race riding.

Sutherland-Kruse has already launched her comeback, having ridden one race at the just-concluded meet at Los Alamitos Race Course, her only mount this year.

"She missed riding tremendously, she enjoys it, and it's in her blood," Ball said of Sutherland-Kruse, who announced her retirement from race riding in 2012 but rode in more than 260 races in 2014. "When she stopped, she got her real estate license and did that, but she missed riding too much and had to come back. She's been working quite a few horses, so she'll have some mounts coming up pretty soon."

Sutherland-Kruse, a two-time Sovereign Award winner as outstanding apprentice jockey in Canada, began race riding in 2000 and has won 979 races from 7,769 career mounts. A highlight of her career was winning the 2011 Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) with Game On Dude.
