Kentucky-based trainer Bernard Flint has been suspended 20 days and fined $2,000 following a second medication offense within the past 365 days, according to a stewards ruling.
According to the Dec. 13 stewards ruling, Stage Street, who finished second in the first race at Churchill Downs on Sept. 19, contained phenylbutazone at a level above the allowed level. Flint's suspension was scheduled to run Dec. 22 through Jan. 10, 2016.
Stage Street was disqualified, with all purse monies forfeited.
On Jan. 10, 2015, stewards suspended Flint 15 days and fined him $500 after post-race tests on Infinity of Humor, winner of the seventh race at Churchill Downs on Nov. 26, 2014, showed the presence of acepromazine metabolite HEPS at a level of 14 ng/ml.
Infinity of Humor was also disqualified, with purse monies forfeited.
