Telling, winner of the 2009 and 2010 editions of the Sword Dancer Invitational (gr. IT), got off the mark as a sire when Kisskiss Telltell won her debut Dec. 27 in the sixth race at Tampa Bay Downs.
An 11-year-old son of A.P. Indy, Telling stands in Ocala, Fla. at Prestige Stallions, where his 2016 fee is set at $10,000. Out of 1998 Ashland (gr. I) winner Well Chosen, he is a three-quarters brother to stakes-placed Present Course and My Assets. Telling has 18 2-year-olds in his first crop.
Telling posted a 6-4-4 career line from 28 starts and earned $848,409 racing from ages 3 through 7.
Trained by Chad Stewart for Team Grande Racing, Kisskiss Telltell, out of the winning Kissin Kris mare Just One Kiss, captured the mile maiden claiming race by 2 1/2 lengths and covered the distance in 1:39.38 on firm turf. She was bred in Florida by Emil Hagger.
