Pimlico Will Attempt Zumba Class Record

Pimlico Race Course will attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for largest Zumba class on Friday, May 16.



The class is sponsored by nearby LifeBridge Health Sinai Hospital and will support the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, one of the two charities Pimlico is teaming up with on Black-Eyed Susan (gr. I)  Day. Celebrity fitness instructors Gina Grant and Kass Martin will be on hand for the event, according to a release from the Maryland Jockey Club, which said the current record of 6,671 participants was set in India on Sept. 15, 2012,



The event is part of a festival in the infield that will include 100 women-owned businesses and vendors displaying goods, promoting health, fitness, wellness, education, career, relationships and family.

 

Tickets are $40, with $10 going directly to Komen Maryland, and registration also includes access to the Black-Eyed Susan Women's Festival activities and the concert featuring Counting Crows, The Fray, and Annie Bosko.



The first 1,000 who register will receive free parking.
