Gulfstream Reports Record Handle in 2015

Gulfstream Park announced Jan. 1 that its live races in 2015 produced a record $1.338 billion in handle. Gulfstream's record handle represented a 14% increase from its previous record handle of $1.174 billion in 2014.

All wagering via Gulfstream Park was a record $1.625 billion, a 14% increase from its previous record of $1.423 billion in 2014. Gulfstream's field size averaged 8.8, compared with 8.7 in 2014. All numbers represent Gulfstream and Gulfstream Park West.

"We're pleased that our business continues to grow as we build a year-round program in Florida," P.J. Campo, vice president of racing for The Stronach Group and general manager of Gulfstream Park, said in a statement. "While our championship season remains one of the top meets in the world, our summer program is gaining in prestige and participation from horsemen throughout North America. We will continue building our program at Gulfstream Park."
