Portland Meadows Cancels Live Racing Jan. 5

Due to freezing temperatures and a review of track conditions, Portland Meadows has canceled live racing for Tuesday, Jan. 5. The Portland, Ore., facility will be open for simulcast wagering.
"Near freezing temperatures has resulted in an inconsistent thawing of the base and the decision has been taken to cancel today's program," said Karsten Hennze of Portland Meadows.
Live racing was also canceled Jan. 4 due to freezing rain and snow.
Racing is scheduled to resume Monday, Jan. 11, with a $100,000 Rainbow 6 guarantee.
