California Chrome started his season with a flourish on Jan. 9 with a clear victory in the Grade 2 San Pasqual Stakes. The 2014 Horse of the Year is targeting a return trip to Dubai for the 2016 Dubai World Cup and his season debut indicated that the flashy 5-year-old is in terrific condition.
Chrome’s groom, Raul Rodriguez, is a major cog in trainer Art Sherman’s operation as not only a groom but also the barn foreman.
