Due to the forecast of high winds, and out of an abundance of caution for the horses and jockeys, the New York Racing Association canceled live racing at Aqueduct Racetrack for Jan. 18.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday card would have featured the $150,000 Toboggan Stakes (gr. III) that drew a field of six sprinters headed by grade I winner Dads Caps. The Toboggan has been rescheduled for Sunday, Jan. 24.

According to the National Weather Service for Ozone Park, N.Y., the high temperature was forecast to be 28 degrees, with winds of 20 miles per hour throughout the day.

Aqueduct will remain open for simulcasting and live racing is scheduled to resume Jan. 22.
