Due to an impending winter storm, Laurel Park announced it has canceled live racing Jan. 23-24 but will offer live racing as scheduled Jan. 22.
Officials at the Maryland racetrack said a weather system approaching the Baltimore-Washington area is expected to produce snow and blizzard conditions beginning late Friday. Heavy snow is expected to impact Maryland Saturday and Sunday.
Laurel and Pimlico Race Course will be closed for simulcasting Jan. 23 but are tentatively scheduled to open for simulcast wagering Jan. 24. Live racing is scheduled to resume Jan. 25; Monday racing is part of the regular schedule at Laurel through the first part of its winter/spring meet.
