This Saturday's Lexington Stakes at Keeneland offers 3-year-olds the last remaining points toward making it in the Kentucky Derby starting gate.
The Lexington Stakes is run at 1 1/16 miles (8.5 furlongs) on Keeneland’s synthetic Polytrack surface. Charismatic, in 1999, was the last horse to complete the Lexington Stakes-Kentucky Derby double. Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey won the Lexington a record six times.
Other notable horses to have won the Lexington include Proud Citizen, Belmont winner Touch Gold and Risen Star.
