The American Graded Stakes Committee has reinstated the grade III status of the 2014 Miami Mile Handicap at Calder Casino & Race Course.
The one-mile race was run as a listed race April 19 after losing its graded status when transferred from the turf course to the main track, which is the policy of AGSC. When races are moved from turf to dirt, they automatically are downgraded a level pending a review. Four horses were scratched from the $100,000 event, leaving 11 starters.
The winner of the Miami Mile, Grand Tito, is credited with a grade III win. Midnight Cello, who was second, and Csaba, the third-place finisher, are credited with grade III placings.
