Jockey Saez Accused of Buzzer Use in Travers

Trainer Eric Guillot has filed a complaint with the New York State Gaming Commission alleging that jockey Luis Saez carried an electronic device when he won the Aug. 24 Travers Stakes (gr. I) aboard Will Take Charge.
Saez and Will Take Charge, who is trained by Hall of Fame horseman D. Wayne Lukas, beat Guillot's horse, Moreno, by a nose in the 3-year-old event at Saratoga Race Course.
"We are reviewing the complaint," gaming commission spokesman Lee Park told the New York Daily News.
According to the Daily News, Guillot's brother, Chip, first saw the alleged device when looking at replays of the race and told his brother, who then filed the complaint.
"The gaming commission is working on it," Guillot told the Daily News. "I brought them the video. I showed it to 100 people—ain't been one person to deny it yet. You see a blurry, black device go from the right hand to the left hand, and then he drops it."
Saez denied the allegations through his agent, Richard DePass. The story was first reported by Daily Racing Form.
