Description:

Undefeated Gulfstream Oaks (gr. II) winner In Tune will receive rest and miss the Longines Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) after she came out of a recent workout with shin soreness.

At Churchill Downs  April 25, trainer Todd Pletcher said the daughter of Unbridled's Song would be sent to a farm for six weeks of rest with a projected return to racing in late summer or early fall.

Alain and Gerard Wertheimer's In Tune improved to three wins in three starts when she scored a narrow victory in the Gulfstream Oaks March 29 at Gulfstream Park. She worked four furlongs in :48.45 April 18 at Palm Meadows Training Center but came out of that breeze with soreness.

Pletcher said he had hoped the issue would resolve itself in the days following the workout but after not seeing improvement, the decision was made to rest the filly. In Tune arrived at Churchill April 22 and galloped at the Louisville track April 23-24.

Pletcher still is pointing Mathis Stable's My Miss Sophia and Hill 'n' Dale Equine Holdings and Philip Steinberg's Got Lucky to the Oaks.
