Kentucky-Bred Champion Nominees Announced

The Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders board of directors Feb. 5 released the nominees for 2015 KTA/KTOB Kentucky-bred champions and Broodmare of the Year. 

 

The KY-bred champions and Broodmare of the Year will be voted upon by all eligible KTA/KTOB members and will be completed Feb. 19. The winners of each division will be announced at the KTOB Awards Luncheon April 21. 

 

The nominees are as follows: 

Broodmare of the Year: Leslie's Lady, Life Happened, Littleprincessemma, Serena's Cat 

Horse of the Year: American Pharoah   

2-year-old male: Hit It a Bomb, Nyquist 

2-year-old filly: Catch a Glimpse, Songbird 

3-year-old male: American Pharoah, Runhappy 

3-year-old filly: Curalina, I'm a Chatterbox, Lovely Maria 

Older dirt male: Honor Code  , Liam's Map  , Tonalist   

Older dirt female: Beholder, Stopchargingmaria, Wedding Toast

Turf male: Big Blue Kitten, Finnegans Wake, Grand Arch, Twilight Eclipse 

Turf female: Stephanie's Kitten, Tepin

Sprinter: Mongolian Saturday, Rock Fall, Runhappy, Undrafted 

Steeplechase Horse: Demonstrative 

Racing Abroad: Air Force Blue, Secret Circle  , Undrafted
