Under ideal conditions at Churchill Downs Sunday morning, April 27, seven contenders for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) and several Longines Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) candidates breezed.
Included in the Derby workers were four from the barn of Todd Pletcher. The Pletcher workers and times were:
Intense Holiday: Worked outside of We Miss Artie under John Velazquez, four furlongs in :48 3/5, out five furlongs in 1:00 4/5 and six furlongs in 1:16 4/5.
We Miss Artie: Worked inside of Intense Holiday under Nick Bush, four furlongs in :49 1/5, out five furlongs in 1:02 2/5.
Danza: Worked outside of Vinceremos, four furlongs in :48 4/5, out five furlongs in 1:01 4/5 and six furlongs in 1:16.
Vinceremos: Worked inside of Danza, four furlongs in :49, out five furlongs in 1:02. Splits were :12 4/5 and :25.
In other Derby works Sunday:
Chitu worked in company with Party Time, going six furlongs from the gate in 1:13 1/5. The splits were :24 2/5, :36 1/5, :47 4/5 1:00 1/5. Galloped out seven furlongs in 1:27 1/5.
Ride On Curlin breezed seven furlongs in 1:29, with splits of :14, :27 1/5, :39 2/5, :51 3/5, 1:16. He galloped out a mile in 1:43 1/5.
Wildcat Red, worked five furlongs in 1:04 1/5. Splits were :13 1/5, :25 4/5, :38 4/5, and :51 1/5. Galloped out six furlongs in 1:20 3/5.
In Oaks workouts Sunday:
Untapable, four furlongs in :48 3/5, with fractional splits of :12, :23 4/5, and :36. Galloped out five furlongs in 1:02 4/5.
Kiss Moon, five furlong breeze in 1:01 1/5, with fractional times of :12 1/5, :23 3/5, and :36. Out six furlongs in 1:16 2/5.
