With single-digit temperatures expected during racing hours, Turfway Park canceled live racing for Feb. 13, and New York's Aqueduct Racetrack also canceled the day's card, citing high winds and sub-zero wind chills.
Turfway said a decision regarding rescheduling the Cincinnati Trophy Stakes is pending and that a concert planned for Saturday night has also been canceled. Turfway will remain open for simulcasting.
The Aqueduct card was highlighted by the Broadway and Haynesfield Stakes, each worth $100,000 and restricted to New York-breds.
With live racing at Aqueduct scheduled to resume Sunday, Feb. 14, the New York Racing Association said it would monitor weather forecasts, and will provide updates should further action be necessary regarding Sunday's scheduled race card.
Aqueduct and Belmont Cafe remain open for Saturday simulcasting.
