For the second consecutive day, racing at Aqueduct Racetrack was canceled Sunday, Feb. 14, due to extreme winter weather conditions including high winds and sub-zero wind chills.
According to the National Weather Service, it was five degrees with nine mile per hour wind at 9 a.m. EST in New York, making it feel like eight below zero. The high temperature Sunday was forecast to be 21 degrees.
Aqueduct and the Belmont Café were both scheduled to remain open for simulcasting, with racing set to resume at Aqueduct on the Monday, Feb. 15, President's Day card.
