Twenty 3-year-olds will be running for much more than the $2,000,000 purse in Saturday's 140th Kentucky Derby. The first leg of the Triple Crown is the chance of a lifetime for these colts and one of the most important races of the year in North America.
California Chrome has won four stakes in a row and will go postward as the favorite but the Derby won't be easy- sophomore standouts Wicked Strong, Dance With Fate and Intense Holiday have lined up to face him plus a slew of consistent stakes performers. Who will wear the blanket of roses? The world will find out Saturday evening.
