#5 Proud ‘n’ Ready (8-1): She is only making her third lifetime start and this will be her second try on turf. I think she has plenty of room to improve and I like the early speed she showed last time when staying close to the leaders when missing third by half a length. There are a few speed horses in this field, and she could get a great stalking trip waiting to make her move down the stretch.

#8 True History (8-1): She ran on to finished a decent third last time out in a race that was meant for the turf but got moved to the dirt main track. She has done her best when running at a mile on the firm turf, and that’s exactly what she will get today. This trainer does well on the Northern California circuit, and I like the first time off the claim move for this barn. This jockey has won with this filly before and should have her within striking distance turning for home.
