TOBA Ownership Seminar in Maryland May 15-16

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association is hosting an ownership seminar May 15-16 in Maryland, coinciding with the Preakness Stakes (gr. I) week.



The May 15 session will take place at the Timonium Race Track in Timonium and on May 16 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.



Sponsored by Blood-Horse Publications, the seminar will feature topics including the owner/trainer relationship, options for acquiring horses, business topics, Thoroughbred retirement, and online resources for Thoroughbred owners. Included in the seminar will be a May afternoon cocktail party and various activities at Pimlico's Black Eyed Susan (gr. I) Day on May 16.



Speakers include Jimmy Toner of JJ Toner Racing; Justin Nicholson of Ninety North Racing; Davant Latham of Davant Latham Bloodstock Insurance; Robb Levinsky of Kenwood Racing; Kip Elser of Kirkwood Stables; Frank Vespe of The Racing Biz; attorney Alan M. Foreman; insurance agent Richard Hoffberger; Bradley Weisbord, U.S. racing advisor for Al Shaqab Racing; Dr. Nicholas Meittinis of Maryland Veterinary Group; Andrew Chesser of The Jockey Club; and Dan Rosenberg, president of Thoroughbred Charities of America. The seminar is moderated by Reed Ringler of Fasig-Tipton.
