Assiniboia Downs Cancels May 9 Card

Because of a lack of entries, live racing at Assiniboia Downs has been canceled for Friday, May 9.
Live racing at the Winnipeg, Manitoba, track in Canada will continue as originally scheduled May 10 at 7 p.m. CDT, and at 1:30 p.m. CDT Mother's Day Sunday.
"We have a sufficient inventory of horses on the grounds; however, mainly due to the poor weather conditions that impaired regular spring training, including a delayed opening of the main track for morning exercise, we do not have an adequate amount of horses prepared to run over a period of three consecutive days," said Assiniboia chief executive officer Darren Dunn. "More horses will be arriving shortly from other race meets that are set to conclude soon."
