Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner California Chrome moved into the fourth position on the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings off his May 3 victory in the Louisville classic.
A total of three U.S.-based horses landed in the top 10 as California Chrome is joined by Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) winner Game On Dude (ranked third), and Oaklawn Handicap (gr. II) winner Will Take Charge (tied for fifth). Two-time Horse of the Year Wise Dan, who has won a pair of grade I races this year on turf, is tied for 11th.
Japan-based Just a Way, who won the Dubai Duty Free Stakes (UAE-I) by more than six lengths in March at Meydan, retains his position at the top.
