Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is leaving the NFL after an incredible 18-year career that culminated with a win in Super Bowl 50 this year. Since he’s stepping away from the pigskin, we came up with some ideas on how he should spend his retirement. After all, now that Manning’s done with the Broncos, it's time for him to upgrade to the Thoroughbreds! Below are five suggestions on how to enter the horse racing world in Peyton's post-retirement life:
1. Transfer his competitive spirit to horse racing and follow in the footsteps of his former wide receiver Wes Welker by becoming a Thoroughbred owner.
2. Host the world's largest Papa John's pizza party on the infield at the 2016 Kentucky Derby.
3. With his summer now completely free, spend a long weekend visiting iconic Del Mar Thoroughbred Club where the turf meets the surf in San Diego, so he can meet up with fellow quarterback and horse owner Drew Brees.

4. Become an ambassador for the Breeders' Cup, joining the likes of Jim Rome, Elizabeth Banks, Stephen Jackson, Avery Johnson and Rick Pitino, among others. We bet Peyton looks good in purple!
5. Visit Lexington, Ky., the heart of horse country in America, and catch up with another recently retired sports star - American Pharoah.
