The Road to the Triple Crown is heating up, and as we draw closer to May 7’s Kentucky Derby, there are many ways to watch (or listen to) the prep races for the Run for the Roses. Below are several ways to catch all of the top Thoroughbred action on the Triple Crown Trail; be sure to add any alternatives in the comments section!
Television:
Three of the major Kentucky Derby prep races (the Wood Memorial, the Blue Grass Stakes and the Santa Anita Derby) are all taking place on Saturday, April 9, and NBC SportsNetwork will carry all three events from 5:30 – 7 p.m. Eastern. To find your local channel, please click here.
TVG, which is horse racing’s home on cable, carries almost every racetrack in the U.S. as well as a ton of foreign races. For your listing, visit TVG’s Channel Finder right here.
Radio:
Horse Racing Radio Network is the official radio partner of the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup; you can listen live here or on Sirius radio. Weekday shows are aired on Sirius 220/XM 206 and weekend programming moves to Sirius 92/XM 92.
Apps:
Horse Races Now will have some of these prep races live on their app, which is available in both the App Store and in Google Play. Be sure to check their schedule to find out what races they’ll show.
Assorted ADWs:
ADWs (Advance Deposit Wagering, which is horse racing lingo for online betting sites) will show every race run in the U.S. There are many out there, but popular outlets include BetAmerica, Xpressbet, TwinSpires, Daily Racing Form’s DRF Bets, and TVG.
Many racetracks also have affiliated ADWs, so be sure to check to find out if your local oval has one – they usually have excellent on-track customer rewards programs.

More and more racetracks are livestreaming their products. Below is the schedule of Kentucky Derby points races, as well as links to livestreams when they’re available.
