Richard Perkins and Hinsley Racing Stable's You Bought Her will take another shot at the $200,000 Inside Information Stakes (gr. II) March 16 at Gulfstream Park, a race she missed last year by a closing neck.
The 6-year-old daughter of Graeme Hall , who finished second by a head in the Sunshine Millions Distaff Jan. 16, prepped for the Inside Information with a 4 1/4-length triumph under Brian Pedroza in the six-furlong Minaret at Tampa Bay Downs Feb. 20.
"Turning for home, Brian asked her and she just took off. He said it was easy from there. He said, 'I didn't have to do much of anything. I just let her cross the wire," trainer David Hinsley said. "It worked out in our favor. That was our prep race for this one. She's doing good. She's training good."
For this season's edition of the seven-furlong Inside Information, You Bought Her is likely to be more forwardly placed than last year, when she raced in sixth before making her rally in an attempt to catch winner Classic Point.
"She got too far out of it," Hinsley said. "I think if she laid a little bit closer, I think she could have won."
You Bought Her departs post 2 with Pedroza in the irons as part of a 121-pound assignment.
Sharing co-highweight assignment of 123 pounds are Tiger Ride and Best Behavior, who leave the starting gate side-by-side from posts 4 and 5.
Dixiana Farm's Tiger Ride, a multiple stakes winner trained by Graham Motion, is set to make her 2016 debut in the Inside Information, her first start since winning the off-the-turf edition of the Pin Oak Valley View (gr. III) last fall at Keeneland. The 4-year-old daughter of Candy Ride has won stakes on both turf and dirt.
"With this race, the timing is really good. There aren't a lot of options right now to get her started. I liked the seven furlongs coming off a layoff. It just kind of fits her schedule," Motion said. "She can build on this and go to Keeneland a month from now and run back on the turf or the dirt."
Trainer Marty Wolfson entered three horses: Miller Racing's Best Behavior, the Sugar Swirl winner two starts back; that same outfit's grade I-placed Kiss to Remember, who returns to Gulfstream after out-of-the money finishes in the Go for Wand (gr. III) at Aqueduct Racetrack and the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I); and Ben McElroy's Miss Melinda, runner-up in the Miami Shores last time out.
Mary and Chester Broman Sr.'s Bar of Gold is also set to make her 2016 debut in the Inside Information. The 4-year-old daughter of Medaglia d'Oro completed her sophomore season with runner-up finishes in the Prioress (gr. II) at Saratoga Race Course and the Raven Run (gr. II) at Keeneland for trainer John Kimmel.
Stoneway Farm's Stonetastic, the winner of the Miami Shores; Jacks or Better Farm's Dogwood Trail; and Paul Lichtefeld and Jack Stewart's Engaginglee round out the field.
