Equibase Company announced March 22 the expansion of racing coverage on equibase.com with the addition of entries and results from several international racing jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.
"Racing is a global sport and today's technology has made it easy to follow the action from far beyond North America," said Jason Wilson, president and chief operating officer of Equibase. "This expansion, for example, will enable racing fans to monitor 2014 Horse of the Year California Chrome's planned appearance in the Dubai World Cup on March 26."
In addition to entries and results from England, Ireland, and the United Arab Emirates, data from Australia, Uruguay, and Chile is now available on equibase.com. International entries and results information will also be available soon on Equibase's Today's Racing app.
"It makes sense to broaden the availability of our entries and results as part of the free information available on equibase.com," said Jim Donnelley, director of racing and sports betting for the Press Association, one of the largest suppliers of horse racing content in Europe. "As North America's official database for racing information and statistics, Equibase is the perfect platform to extend the reach of our racing product."
Equibase Company is a partnership between subsidiaries of The Jockey Club and the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America and serves as the Thoroughbred industry's official database.
