Undefeated Sagamore Farm homebred Daring Dancer will try for her fourth straight victory and second straight stakes win against an expected six other 3-year-old fillies in the $200,000 Wonder Again Stakes May 25 at Belmont Park.
The lone graded stakes winner in the field, Daring Dancer enters the 1 1/8-mile turf race off a 2 1/2-length victory in the first stakes start of her career, the Appalachian Stakes (gr. IIIT) April 14 at Keeneland. As a juvenile, the Maryland-bred daughter of Empire Maker opened her career with clear victories in turf races at Laurel Park, a maiden special event; and Churchill Downs, an allowance race.
Top challenges could come from stakes winners Recepta, who is campaigned by Phillips Racing Partnership and Pam Gartin; and Courtesan, campaigned by Ramona Bass.
