PA-Bred Tisdale Poised for Bigger Things?

Tisdale may run in the Arkansas Derby next.
Pennsylvania-bred Tisdale, owned by Harlow Stables, won an entry-level allowance race March 26 at Oaklawn Park and could resurface in a stakes, perhaps the April 16 Arkansas Derby (gr. I).
Tisdale, a 3-year-old colt by Friesan Fire out of the Citidancer mare Mrs. Vanderbilt, won the 1 1/16-mile allowance event under Ricardo Santana Jr. in handy fashion over Unexplained. He covered the distance in 1:45.35 on a fast track.
In his previous start, Tisdale, bred by Barbara Brown, broke his maiden going 1 1/16 miles at Oaklawn.
"We're trying right now to let him gather momentum and experience and see where he takes us," trainer Ron Moquett said of Tisdale, a workmate of Rebel Stakes (gr. II) second-place finisher Whitmore.
Tisdale was under consideration for the Rebel. Moquett entered him in an allowance sprint March 25 but opted for the longer race Saturday. Tisdale finished sixth in his debut at Parx Racing in 2015 and then finished second in his first race of the year at Oaklawn.
"The thing that we have in our back pocket is he's a PA-bred," Moquett said. "There are lots of races on the East Coast for this horse."
