The premier Kentucky Derby prep in Florida, the Florida Derby is the marquee event in racing this weekend with a highly anticipated battle between early Kentucky Derby favorite Mohaymen and champion 2-year-old Nyquist. The 1 1/8-mile race for 3-year-olds awards 170 points toward the Kentucky Derby starting gate and a $1-million purse. Read on to get the lowdown on each of the six contenders for the $600,000 top prize at Gulfstream Park.
No. 1: Sawyers Mickey (30-1)

With no races longer than a mile and much of his success coming on grass, look for somewhere in the neighborhood of 75-to-1 or 100-to-1 on Copingaway, and even that might not be value for a colt whose never reached a 90 Equibase Speed Figure.
