A wide-open field of older fillies and mares will line up for the $200,000 Orchid Stakes (gr. IIIT) going 1 3/8 miles at Gulfstream Park April 2.
Photo Call will inherit favoritism off her grade I victory in the 1 1/4-mile Rodeo Drive Stakes at Santa Anita Park last fall at 8-1. She briefly grabbed the lead in her next race, the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT), but gave way to finish fifth. She ran into Tepin in her first race this season and checked in fourth in the Lambholm South Endeavour Stakes (gr. IIIT). There are no Tepins to deal with in the Orchid, and the stalker figures to get a good trip.
