Where to Watch the Belmont Stakes in California

It’s not every day that we get the opportunity to witness a running of the Belmont Stakes with a Triple Crown on the line, so the anticipation leading up to California Chrome’s bid for immortality is growing by the day.
We haven’t seen a Triple Crown winner since Affirmed completed the sweep in a thrilling stretch run back in 1978. Could this be the year?
Where will you be for the Belmont? If you are in California and not able to attend the Belmont Stakes but want to see hometown hero California Chrome bid for history, here are a few places to check out. You can place a bet on the Belmont and all of the races on the Belmont Stakes undercard at all of the following locations.

Santa Anita Park (Arcadia, Calif.)

Whether you just want to enjoy general admission or attend one of the events going on at the facility, Santa Anita Park has something for everyone. In addition to the live racing, there’s a special Chrome Zone package, an infield concert featuring New Found Glory, a wine-tasting event and much more on June 7.

California Chrome’s home base is Los Alamitos Race Course and The Vessels Club is a great place to enjoy the races. Cheer along with other California Chrome fans as the hometown hero tries to win the Belmont Stakes. Good food, comfortable seating, tasty drinks and great company. 

Surfside Race Place at Del Mar (Del Mar, Calif.)

Surfside Race Place is a great spot to enjoy the races in a Las Vegas-style race book. It’s located next to the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Expect good food and drink specials plus spacious indoor seating and outdoor patios.

The Finish Line Sports Grill is located next to Fairplex Park and has great food and drink specials with seating available in the sales pavilion and flat screens all over the place. Watch all the races from across the country in a fun, comfortable atmosphere.

OC Tavern (San Clemente, Calif.)

OC Tavern Sports Bar and Grill was one of the first restaurants in Southern California to add wagering on horse races. They have indoor and outdoor seating, food and drink specials, and live entertainment.
