While the mini-controversy about California Chrome's wearing of a Flair nasal strip quickly died down after New York rules were changed to allow the practice, the largest maker of the human version nasal strip hopes to grab some attention at the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) June 7 at Belmont Park.

USA Today reports that GlaxoSmithKline, the maker of Breathe Right nasal strips, plans to pass out 50,000 nasal strips to adult fans attending the race where California Chrome will try to become the 12th Triple Crown winner in history.

The brand, which will have booths set up at the track and will advertise in the program, also will air TV spots in the 10 largest markets featuring a jockey who wears nasal strips. It's also promoting the stunt on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
