Three Share Fastest OBS Work Times

Hip 836, a filly by Majestic Warrior

Three juveniles shared the fastest furlong time of :09 4/5 during the April 15 fifth set of under tack workouts for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s 2016 spring sale of 2-year-olds in training sale.

Consigned by Niall Brennan, Hip 836 is a filly by Majestic Warrior bred in Kentucky by the partnership of Betz, Needham, Lamantia, Blackburn, and Halecky. Produced from French Line, by Boundary, she was a 2015 Keeneland September sale RNA at $30,000.

Also breezing an eighth in :09 4/5 were Hip 956, an Astrology   colt consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent, and Hip 985, a Hansen filly from the Shadybrook Farm consignment.

A 2015 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling purchase for $23,000 by Jorge Villagomez, the Astrology colt was bred in Kentucky by Susan Forrester and Equus Farm. The colt was produced from the Forestry mare I’m Fantabulous, a half sister to Shot of Gold, whose 21 wins included the Rushaway Stakes.

The roan filly by Hansen is out of Jovani, by Broad Brush, a daughter of stakes winner and graded stakes-placed Dixie Pearl. The filly, bred in Kentucky by Kendall M. Hansen Racing, was bought by Oscar Diaz for $20,000 at last September’s Keeneland yearling sale.

Hip 837, a bay colt by Quality Road   consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, worked a quarter-mile in :20 3/5 to post the fastest work at the distance. Produced from graded stakes winner French Satin, by French Deputy, he is a half brother to stakes winner and graded stakes-placed Midnight Transfer. Bred by Alpha Delta Stables, the colt was bought back for $120,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga August yearling sale.

There were two quarters in :20 4/5. Hip 843, a gray or roan filly by The Factor   consigned by Woods is out of stakes winner Friona, by Allen’s Prospect, a full sister to stakes winner Fort Dodge. The filly was bought by Quarter Pole Enterprises for $140,000 at the Keeneland September sale.

Hip 901, consigned by Tom McCrocklin, agent, is a chestnut colt by Broken Vow   out of stakes winner Haddie Be Good, by Silver Deputy, and a half brother to stakes winner Story to Tell. He was purchased by Solana Beach Sales for $105,000 as a Keeneland September yearling.

The under tack show for the April 19-22 auction concludes April 16, with workouts beginning at 8 a.m.
