The Elkstone Group’s homebred Lady Fog Horn was named Indiana-bred horse of the year April 16 during the Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association’s awards banquet at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino.
Lady Fog Horn scored four stakes victories among six wins last year at age 3 for trainer Tony Granitz: the Indiana First Lady, Frances Slocum, Florence Henderson, and Hoosier Breeders' Sophomore Stakes, all at Indiana Grand, and finished second in the Cardinal Handicap (gr. III) at Churchill Downs.
Lady Fog Horn, by Zavata, also was named 3-year-old Indiana-sired filly. Her dam is the Northern Spur mare Titia, who was named broodmare of the year.
Lady Fog Horn is entered in a $34,000 allowance/optional claiming event for fillies and mares at one mile April 20, second day of the 2016 Indiana Grand meet that begins the day before.
