After a layoff following the first graded stakes score of her career, Pricedtoperfection is back in New York for trainer Chad Brown and will try a strong edition of the $100,000 Memories of Silver Stakes April 24 on the Aqueduct Racetrack turf.
Klaravich Stables and William Lawrence's Pricedtoperfection opened the season in the Ginger Brew Stakes on the Gulfstream Park turf with a close second to Lira, who also will start in Sunday's 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-old fillies. A daughter of Temple City , Pricedtoperfection then secured the first stakes win of her career in the Jan. 30 Sweetest Chant (gr. IIIT) Jan. 30 at Gulfstream.
Pricedtoperfection has not raced since that winning effort but since March 25 she has worked four times, twice going a half-mile at Palm Meadows and twice going a half-mile at Belmont Park.
Mathis Stable's Lira followed her Ginger Brew win with a runner-up finish to last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (gr. IT) winner Catch a Glimpse in the Herecomesthebride Stakes (gr. IIIT) Feb. 27 on the Gulfstream turf. Trained by Todd Pletcher, Lira enters the Memories of Silver off a third-place finish (finished fourth, moved to third) in the Sanibel Island Handicap March 26 on the Gulfstream turf.
Lira, by Giant's Causeway, and Pricedtoperfection are the co-highweights in Sunday's race.
Two others to watch in an expected field of nine, where every starter has flashed some level of talent, include Sovereign Stable's Enjoy Yourself, who enters off a close second in the Florida Oaks (gr. IIIT) at Tampa Bay Downs; and Brown's other starter Last Waltz, a group III-placed daugther of Danehill Dancer, who will be making her first start since an off-the-board finish in last year's Juvenile Fillies Turf.
