1 ¼ miles – The distance of the Kentucky Derby.
1:59.40 – Fastest time run in the race, held by the 1973 winner, the great Secretariat.
2 – Number of consecutive Derby wins for jockey Victor Espinoza, who won the race on California Chrome in 2014 and American Pharoah in 2015.
$2.80 – Record low payout on a $2 win ticket, occurring when both Count Fleet (1943) and Citation (1948) won.
4 – The number of gray or roan horses probable for this year’s race. A gray hasn’t won since 2005 (Giacomo).
4 – Kentucky Derby wins by trainer Bob Baffert, including 2015 with American Pharoah. This year he has Mor Spirit headed to the race.
