Fans who arrive early for Keeneland's closing day of the spring meet will get a chance to see Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) favorite Nyquist breeze.
Reddam Racing's undefeated Nyquist will breeze before the first race Friday, April 29. The champion 2-year-old male of 2015 is scheduled to conduct his final timed workout before the Louisville classic at 12:15 p.m. EDT on the Keeneland main track.
Nyquist, who will be ridden by regular jockey Mario Gutierrez, will work in company.
The connections of Nyquist initially had planned to work Nyquist Saturday morning at Keeneland.
Undefeated in seven career races, Nyquist won the Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) at Keeneland last fall and was named champion 2-year-old male. At three, Nyquist has won the San Vicente (gr. II) at Santa Anita Park and the Xpressbet.com Florida Derby (gr. I) at Gulfstream Park. He has been training at Keeneland since April 3.
