Page McKenney (outside) wins General George Stakes

Adam Staple and Jalin Stable's Page McKenney, who was claimed for $16,000 in 2013 and since then has earned more than $1 million, was named Pennsylvania-bred horse of the year for 2015.

Page McKenney last year had five wins, three seconds, and two thirds for earnings of $589,900. He finished third in the grade II Charles Town Classic April 23, second in the grade III Pimlico Special, and third in the grade III Cornhusker Handicap.

Earlier this year the 6-year-old Eavesdropper gelding won the grade III General George Stakes at Laurel Park. He is trained by Mary Eppler and was bred by Dr. James Bryant of Jalin Stables and Linda Davis.

The full list of Pennsylvania-bred champions and top earners for 2015, with breeders in parentheses, follows. The awards will be presented in Hershey, Pa., June 24, at the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association annual dinner.

Older male and male sprinter: Favorite Tale (Paul Conaway)

Turf male: Flying Officer (George Strawbridge Jr.)

Turf female: Kitten's Point (George Strawbridge Jr.)

Steeplechase horse: Parker's Project (Jonathan Sheppard)

Broodmare of the year: Vole Vole Monamour

Leading stallion: Jump Start  

Leading breeding fund farm recipient: Northview Stallion Station

Leading breeder: Thomas G. McClay
