Papa John's Again Partners With TAA

Description:

Papa John's Pizza announced May 2 it has reactivated a special promotion with the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance to support aftercare for retired Thoroughbreds during the 2016 Triple Crown season.

Papa John's, a TAA partner, hosted a similar fundraiser during the month leading up to the Breeders' Cup World Championships last fall in the Louisville and Lexington markets, and was able to raise more than $8,000 for the TAA.

"Papa John's is honored to partner with the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance by offering the Triple Crown Special, a fundraising offer that is available during this year's Triple Crown season to benefit Thoroughbred aftercare," said Lynn McQuillen, operations vice president of Papa John's.

The partnership between Papa John's and the TAA was announced last fall during the Breeders' Cup World Championships at a press conference at Old Friends in Georgetown, Ky., a TAA-accredited Thoroughbred aftercare organization and home to numerous equine celebrities such as Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winners Silver Charm and War Emblem.

"I hope the TAA gets as much publicity from this promotion as possible so it snowballs and other companies step up to the plate to help this wonderful cause," Hall of Fame jockey Chris McCarron said.

To show your support, visit PapaJohns.com and enter promo code TAA12 to receive a large two-topping pizza and garlic knots for $12. Papa John's will donate $1 from each Triple Crown Special to the TAA.

The offer is valid online only at participating Lexington- and Louisville-area locations until June 11.
