Prominent freshman sires Stay Thirsty   and Shackleford   will have their first starters hit the track May 5.

Thirstforlife, a son of multiple grade I winner Stay Thirsty and grade II winner Promenade Girl (by Carson City), jumps straight to stakes company, going five furlongs in Churchill Downs' $100,000 Kentucky Juvenile Stakes.

Camas Park Stud bred the colt in Kentucky. He is the fifth foal out of Promenade Girl, who is the dam of grade I winner Cavorting and two other winners.

Gary Barber and Vince and Teresa Viola's St. Elias Stable co-own the Mark Casse-trained colt. He will be ridden by Florent Geroux.

Thirstforlife was a $240,000 weanling at the 2014 Keeneland November sale, bought by J.J. Crupi as agent for Roma Farm. He is coming into the race off a four-furlong :47 bullet work at Keeneland, the best of 23 going the distance that day.

Stay Thirsty stands at Ashford Stud for $10,000.

Shackleford's first starter will be Enasoit, who is entered in the first race at Belmont Park, a $100,000 five-furlong maiden special weight event.

Enasoit is co-owned by Robert Masiello, Robert Murray, and his trainer Tom Morley. Runnymede Farm and Peter Callahan bred the colt in Kentucky. Enasoit is out of the unraced Gone West mare Tres Tres Joli, who has produced five winners out of six other foals of racing age.

Runnymede offered the colt in the 2015 Keeneland September yearling sale, where he went unsold on a final bid of $70,000. Enasoit has been working steadily at Belmont since March 26. He went four furlongs in :48.05 on April 29, the second-fastest time among 43 working at the distance. The colt will be ridden by Manuel Franco.

Winner of the Preakness Stakes (gr. I) and two other grade I stakes, Shackleford stands at Darby Dan Farm for $20,000.
